Huskies do battle, Fill the Bus

The Huskies have a busy weekend ahead, on and off the ice.

They play just one game, a Saturday night contest in Dawson Creek, against a Jr. Canucks team just breaking out of a slump (1-3-1 in their last 5).

The Huskies will be looking for two points, not just to hold of Dawson Creek, but also to keep ahead of Peace River, who play in Slave Lake and home to Beaverlodge.

On Sunday, the pups return home for their ‘Fill the Bus’ campaign. The annual event has been increasingly successful every year, and the Huskies are hoping to surpass the 17,600 pounds of food raised last year.

Huskies Captain Jon Spence will be working the campaign for his fourth year, and says it’s success is pretty simple.

Starting at around 11am on Sunday, the Huskies, Formula Tank Midget Female Flyers, and other members of the community will be spreading out around town, and knocking on doors to solicit donations.

Huskies Past-President Carolynn Krauss suggests some good things to donate.

So don’t forget to have a donation ready, and support the Huskies as they try to Fill the Bus.
