Staff from the Oil and Gas Commission Friday donated $2,328 to the Fort St. John Hospital Foundation.  The money will be put towards the a newly expanded Chemotherapy room.  Over the last 18 months work has been underway to expand the existing Chemotherapy room and only until recently did the space at the Hospital become available.

In total $30,000 was raised for the expanded department that will now see a total of 4 chairs, up from 2, to help patients.  Hours are the room will also be expanded from 7am to 3pm to 7am to 6pm Monday to Friday.  Previously the Chemotherapy room wasn’t always able to treat everyone who needed care because of the lack of space.

The donation on Friday from Oil and Gas Commission staff pushed the fundraising over the $30,000 mark.  Equipment will be ordered next week and will arrive in Fort St. John in 2009.
