BC Teacher Registry now in place


BC parents are now just a click away from knowing if their children’s teachers have ever been disciplined.

A long-awaited teachers registry can now be accessed through the B-C College of Teachers website.

College spokesman Mykle Ludvigson says parents can enter a teacher’s name and that instructor’s status, including any public record of discipline, will then pop up.

The BC government legislated the registry in 2007 but its implementation was delayed by legal wrangling over just who would pay the bill.
