District 60 to discuss FSA tests

The standoff surrounding the controversial Foundation Skills Assesment exams continues.

School District 60 Superintendent Larry Espe weighed in today, saying the board has no official position on the testing.

Espe says while the random sample test could serve certain groups, others could be left behind. [asset|aid=825|format=mp3player|formatter=asset_bonus|title=4af341b038ab066c4847fe71348d5049-larry espe 1_1_Pub.mp3]

Espe also says the board will discuss the FSA this Monday. [asset|aid=826|format=mp3player|formatter=asset_bonus|title=4af341b038ab066c4847fe71348d5049-larry espe 2_1_Pub.mp3]

Teachers have voted 85-per cent in favor of boycotting tests this year, but the province still intends to go ahead with the assessments in February.
