Fill the Bus finally set to go this weekend

The Huskies have a busy weekend ahead, on and off the ice.

They play just one game, a Saturday night contest at home against the Sexsmith Vipers. The Huskies will be looking for two points, as both Dawson Creek and Peace River, two of the teams chasing them for second place in the NWJHL, play two games.

On Sunday, the pups will finally be knocking on doors for their annual ‘Fill the Bus’ campaign. The annual event has been increasingly successful every year, and the Huskies are hoping to surpass the 17,600 pounds of food raised last year.

It’s been postponed twice due to severe weather, but with a high of -12 on Sunday, the event looks like it will go ahead. Starting at around 11am on Sunday, the Huskies and other members of the community will be spreading out around town, to solicit donations, to be distributed to those in need by the Salvation Army.

Huskies Past-President Carolynn Krauss suggests some good things to donate. [asset|aid=779|format=mp3player|formatter=asset_bonus|title=1b3dedc3e3f8df3425750ecea33e39ae-carolyn-food_1_Pub.mp3] So don’t forget to have a donation ready, and support the Huskies as they try to Fill the Bus.
