Fort St. John Senior Flyers Win 8-2 over the Kings in Fairview

Fort St. John Senior Flyers defeat the Fairview Kings on Friday night 8-2.

The Flyers slowly dismantled the Kings on Friday night, leading by a score of 3-0 after one period, 5-0 after two, and 8-2 the final.  Todd Alexander led the way, scoring 2 goals and two assists, while Dustin Kersey totalled 4 assists.  Fairview only got on the board in the third period, with Tom Bondaruk cashing a powerplay rebound past Troy Hunt with ~11 minutes to play, and Mattieu Keillor adding a second with 6 minutes left.  Ryan Bjorklund finished the game, taking over from Hunt with ~4 minutes to go.

FSJ scored 2 short-handed goals in the game, and added one powerplay goal on 2 chances.  Once again, the Flyers weren’t as physical as they typically hope to be, and any fans hoping for a fight from a highly penalized team, that includes former NHL tough-guy Darren Van Impe were disappointed, as the game was clean and polite almost throughout.

Here are the highlights:

FSj returns home Saturday night for Minor Hockey night, as they host the Valleyview Jets.
