One year until the Olympic Torch visits FSJ; celebrate tonight

The City of Fort St. John will host a special event Saturday night to start the one year countdown until when the Olympic Torch will be in Fort St. John.

The event will be held at the North Peace Arena beginning just prior to the Senior Flyers Game.  The game starts at 8:30pm and will feature special events to celebrate the beginning of the countdown.  Events will include minor hockey playersl skating with our country’s flag, acting Mayor Ackerman will make the ceremonial puck drop and Frozen John will be on hand to hand out all kinds of prizes.

There will also be a display about the Torch in the lobby of the NPA.  Plus of course the Flyers will take on High Prairie.  This will be the last regular season home game for the team.
