We could finally break out of the deep freeze

After dealing with frigid temperatures featuring overnight lows of minus 25 or colder, in 20 of the last 24 days, Fort St. John and area residents will finally get out of the deep freeze, this weekend.

The temperature is expected to rise to minus 8 tomorrow but, the weather change will be driven by a brisk Southwest wind, which will keep the wind chill temperature in the minus 30 to minus 40 range, until the weekend.

Then, we’re expected to get to minus six on Saturday, and following about a ten degree dip on Sunday, back up to near zero, on Monday.

In addition, if the the Weather Network’s long range forecast is accurate, the high reading should then stay, above the seasonal norm, of minus ten, for about two weeks.
