The 18U girls weekend went well for club volleyball. There were 45 girls’ teams. The FSJ-Ice played LVC(Lethbridge Volleyball Club), Canuck K.O. from Calgary and Sherwood Park Rush, and defeated each of them in 2 sets.
They met NAVC (Northern Alberta Volleyball Club) in the crossover match and defeated them in 2 sets 25-22 7 25-16.
The quarter finals were against Queens 18 from Red Deer and Ice was victorious again in 2 sets 25-12 & 26-24.
They met the Calgary Dinos 18 in the semi and lost in 2 sets 25-19 & 25-16.
In the bronze metal match Ice was defeated 25-15 & 25-11 against the Calgary Dinos 17.
The girls played well and were very impressive but will be working hard on improving over the next few weeks as they prepare for the AVA Premier #2 in Calgary on Feb. 21-22/09.
The tournament will consist of the same the teams with the possibility of more.

The boys 17U traveled with only 7 players as some players were committed to a hockey tournament. They were not able to win a set but came close with some of their sets 27-25, 26-24 and 25-23.
They will also be working hard over the next three weeks as they have a tournament in Edmonton.
