Historic movie to hit the big screen

The Lido Theatre will be playing a rare piece of Fort St. John history tomorrow.

The movie titled The Peace and Plenty documents life in the Peace region more than 50 years ago.

Councillor Larry Evans encourages everyone to view the city’s history.

He says the movie documents the four main industries of the Peace at the time: farming, mining, forestry and oil and gas.

There are numerous interviews with local celebrities like Dr. Kearny, as well as local farmers and business owners.

Councillor Evans says the movie is bound to get a few chuckles.

Show time for the movie is at 7pm. Tickets are available at the Fort St. John museum or at the door and are by donation only. If there is enough demand, another screening will be held at 8:30pm.
