The scam, Women Empowering Women, was first brought to light earlier this month. The group asks potential victims to join for a fee of five thousand dollars. The participants are encouraged to recruit their friends and family members and, are told members receive 40 thousand dollars, when they reach the top of the pyramid.

Constable Nardi says he has heard some of the group’s meetings have been canceled since the public was notified the group is illegal. He also says the group may have changed their name.
