Leonard Ballantyne still waiting for verdict

There’s still no word of a verdict in the Prince George second degree murder trial, of 30 year old Leonard Freedom Ballantyne.

He’s charged with death of 27 year old Neil McNamarma, who died from shotgun stomach wounds, received in a Fort St. John apartment complex, in September of 2006.

The Prince George Citizen reports the jury got the case last Friday afternoon but returned to courtroom yesterday morning to hear the answers to several questions forwarded to Justice Eric Chamberlist.

By late yesterday afternoon the period of jury deliberations was already being cited by some obvservers as the longest for a Prince George jury trial in recent memory.
