RCMP arrest two for stealing from vehicles

The RCMP is reporting the arrest of two more people, charged with breaking into unlocked vehicles.

On the morning of Thursday Feb. 19th, the RCMP responded to a report of two male suspects entering vehicles and stealing their contents, on 96A Avenue.

The police were able to track the suspects to their home, where, once he was told he was going to be arrested, one of them reportedly struck an officer in the face, and also tried to disarm an officer. The police were able to restrain the male, 19 year-old Tristan Scheck, and take him into custody.

Scheck now faces 8 criminal charges, including two counts of assaulting a peace officer, one count of attempting to disarm a peace officer, and 5 counts of theft.

The other unnamed suspect, voluntarily gave himself up to police, and will also face charges of theft.

The RCMP reminds you to always keep your vehicles locked, particularly as in this case, the suspects apparently made no attempt to break into any locked vehicles.
