Telus Mobility Media Relations officer Shaun Hall explains what is happening:

He says this is a very rare case because someone with an electronic or similar device is transmitting on the same frequency as the cell phones.
The company is currently trying to find out what is causing this.
Hall says it’s not known when the service will be fully restored.
Bell Mobility cell phones are also impacted.
