The Child Development Centre is getting ready for two major fundraisers this week.
The first event will be held on Thursday with the help of Arctech Welding and Machining and Moose FM. The 5th annual A Day for the Kids is a 12 hour fundraiser for the CDC. All day on Thursday March 5th you’re encouraged to call in and donate to the Child Development Centre. Last year over $40,000 was raised just through this fundraiser. We encourage you to collect donations from your co-workers and donate as an office to the CDC. To donate you can call today at 250-787-7100 or Click Here and donate online.
This year all the funds raised will go towards Project Build a Fort. Project Build a Fort will see the CDC more than double in size as they work to help as many children and families here in the North Peace as possible. This year with the Arctech Welding and Machining A Day for the Kids and the 35th Annual Talent Show they hope to raise over $200,000. They can’t do it without your help.
Several companies in Fort St. John are already fundraising for CDC and the A Day for the Kids Fundraiser. Here is a list of the places helping to raise funds.
March 4th – Shop at the ABC Thrift shop and all the proceeds from the days sales will go to the CDC. The ABC Thrift Shop is located on 100th ave near Casey’s Pub. The store will be open that day from 10am to 5pm.
March 6th – Boston Pizza will donate $1 from every pizza sold that day
March 6th – Booster Juice will donate $1 from every 24oz Smoothie sold that day
March 2-7 – Rudy’s car wash will donate all proceeds from one of the wash bays.
Then on Friday March 6th it’s the 35th annual CDC Talent Show at the North Peace Cultural Centre. The show will feature talent from all over the North Peace. Each of the participants have been raising funds on their own for the CDC. Moose FM and Energeticcity.ca will broadcast the talent show live beginning at 6pm. Make sure you come down to the NPCC and watch the show. It’s free to attend but the CDC is asking for a donation to the Food Bank or to the CDC.
