VICTORIA, B.C. - The recent increase in COVID-19 cases in B.C. was expected, says Dr. Henry.

A $22 Million dollar contract has been awarded to maintain a northern part of the Alaska Highway.

The area of the Alaska Highway between Summit Lake and the Yukon Border will be maintained by North Country Maintenance Inc. of Vernon, BC. They submitted the lowest of six qualified bids. A total of 16 people will help to maintain the highway during this four-year contract.

This contract includes routine repairs to the highway paving and bridges as well as mowing, snow removal, sanding and ice control.
