The Fort Nelson RCMP is investigating the discovery of a frozen body behind the Chalo school.

At just before 9 am Monday, the detachment was notified of a missing 46 year old male, who had last been seen Saturday afternoon leaving a residence on his snowmobile.

At 12:25, they received word the man’s body had been discovered in deep snow alongside the trail.

Police report that preliminary investigations show he wasn’t properly dressed for the conditions, and tried to walk home after his sled got stuck in some deep snow.

The police investigation continues, and the deceased man’s name has not been released at this time.
