There is still no firm date for the Liberal nomination meeting for the May 9th Provincial Election in the Peace River North Constituency.

The local area riding is about one of twenty in the province, that still does not have a Liberal candidate.

However, unofficially there are five candidates seeking to replace Senator Richard Neufeld, as the riding’s incumbent party candidate.

They include Fort St. John city councillors, Lori Ackerman and Dan Davies, former Fort St. John city councillor Pat Pimm, District-60 school trustee Linda Sewell, and Chetwynd Mayor Evan Saugstad.

The New Democrat, Green and Refederation Parties already have candidates nominated for the constituency.

In addition, Energy Minister Blair Lekstrom, who is representing the riding in the legislature on an interim basis, is again the parties nominated candidate in Peace River South.

He will also be the featured speaker at the Fort St. John and District Chamber of Commerce luncheon on March 18th.
