NDP pick Peace River North Candidate

Jackie Allen has been officially picked to run in Peace River North for the NDP.

Jackie was acclaimed as their candidate at a meeting held over the weekend in Fort St. John. Since moving to Fort Nelson 30 years ago, Jackie has been an active member of the community. She worked for School District 89 for 20 years and for 9 years served as a councilor for the town of Fort Nelson.

Jackie will now face at least 4 other people for the Peace River North seat. The Green Party will have Liz Logan, Aurther Hadland will run as an independent and Suzanne Arnston will represent the BC Refederation Party.

The incumbent Liberals still haven’t chosen their candidate, but among those who have thrown their hats in the ring for nomination, are current Fort St. John City Councilors Lori Ackerman and Dan Davies…former Fort St. John city councilor Pat Pimm…District 60 School Trustee Linda Sewell…and Chetwynd mayor Evan Saugstad. It’s expected that the Liberals will pick their candidate this Friday at a meeting in Fort St. John.

The Provincial Election will be held on Tuesday May 12th.
