Earlier this month a Prophet River woman was set on fire during a brutal attack in the northern community.

Fort Nelson RCMP received a call on April 11th, about a intoxicated man that was threatening people with an axe.  Once they arrived on scene they found the man covered with blood and scratches and he was armed with a gun outside his house.

Once the RCMP were able to go inside the home, they found a 26 year old woman who had been badly beaten.  The male suspect had kicked and punched her and then poured cologne on her and set her on fire.  Some of her clothing was burned off and she suffered first and second degree burns.
