The Fort St. John Fire Department has confirmed a multi-vehicle accident on Monday afternoon on the Alaska Highway.

Firefighter Simon Caughill has confirmed the department responded at just before 3pm, to the scene just past the weigh-scales, at Mile 54.

He says the initial cause was likely a single vehicle roll-over, though three vehicles were ultimately involved. He says the highway was shut-down for the initial investigation, and will likely be open by 5pm.
