Premier Gordon Campbell was in Fort St. John Thursday to show support for Liberal candidate Pat Pimm.
Campbell toured the Spectra Energy plant earlier Thursday morning before dropping by the Curling Club in Fort St. John.
Campbell spoke to 200 supporters at the club. He says creating and maintaining jobs are the B.C. Liberals’ top priority.
He says buildings like the Enerplex and programs like the Northern lights College Exploration Program will create jobs and pump money into the ailing economy.

Campbell says the amount of infrastructure money being pumped into the communities has nothing to do with the election around the corner.
He says the world changed dramatically, so the government decided to invest now rather than later.

He says he has a few priorities for the North, one of which is the debate on oil and gas wells being too close to schools and homes.
However, he doesn’t have a solution or timeline for when the problem will be resolved.

He says if the Liberals are elected, there should be an announcement sometime this summer regarding the issue.
