Dawson Creek Family Dog found after vehicle stolen

A Dawson Creek family’s dog has been found after the dog was taken while inside a truck stolen in Chilliwack.

A couple who saw the evening news, and saw the story on Winston being taken felt they may have seen him earlier in the day. They went back to the same area on Ashwell Road in Chilliwack, called his name, and he came running.

The owners have now been reunited with Winston. The Miller family, Winston included, are grateful for all the media groups who helped speared the word on Friday, and to the couple who found him and helped reunite him with his owners.

The Newfoundland-shepherd cross was in a Ford F-350 when the truck was stolen in Chilliwack Thursday night.

The truck was later found in a parking lot, without the dog. Police say the truck was covered in mud suggesting the thief may have done some off-road joy riding before dumping the Ford in the parking lot.
