Fort St. John Crime Stoppers representatives present the award for best website to the developers of the site, Motion Media – Braden Fox/Energeticcity.ca
On May 1st & 2nd, board members from the Fort St. John & District Crime Stoppers travelled to Vernon, BC for the Annual Provincial Crime Stoppers Training Conference.
During this two day training conference entitled “Searching for Solutions, Not Applying Band-aids” Coordinator Rick Ekkel, President Sandy Levac, Vice President Dacia Douhaibi and Treasurer Debbie Neimi attended sessions that included information on search warrants, human trafficking, and applying new technology to the Crime Stoppers program.
On the final evening of the conference an awards ceremony was held, and the Fort St. John & District Crime Stoppers board was pleased to receive the award for Best Website.
The winning website was developed in partnership with Motion Media. The Fort St. John & District Crime Stoppers board would like to extend their thanks to Motion Media for coming on board to help in the creation of a new and vibrant information source.
The Provincial Awards Committee heralded the website as innovative, user friendly and visually pleasing. The website features information on crimes that have occurred – both past and present, tip submission, history of the Crime Stoppers program and mug shots.
