Fort St. John film to show at YVR


A short film showcasing Fort St. John will be one of 15 to show on screens at Vancouver’s airport, before and during the 2010 Olympics.

Fort St. John is one of 15 communities, all with direct flights to Vancouver, which will be provided with $10,000 to film and edit a three-minute promotional video.

The Vancouver Airport Authority says individual filmmakers will be selected "with the help of local Spirit of BC Community Committees."

The Vancouver Airport expects to handle more than 17 million passengers in 2009, and as many as 80,000 per day, during the games.

The 15 communites selected include:

• Campbell River

• Castlegar

• Cranbrook


• Fort St. John

• Kamloops

• Kelowna

• Nanaimo


• Penticton

• Port Hardy

• Prince George

• Prince Rupert

• Terrace

• Tofino

• Victoria

• Williams Lake
