The Dawson Creek Triathlon was held on Sunday, May 24th, under sunny skies and brisk northwest winds, and fairly mild temperatures. Fort St. John Participants did well for a second week in a row posting several top three results in their respective age groups. In the female 20-30 age group were the following results: Kathryn Fairweather was second with 1:01:42, Wendy Giesbrecht third with 1:05:00, Becky Keim 1:06:45 and Melanie Chapple with 1:07:33 and Rebecca Newsham with 1:19:03. Sandra McDonald had a speedy 57:20 for second place in the female 31-45 age group and the fastest overall female bike split of 27:00. Dee-Ann Stickel also in the female 31-45 came in at 1:22:06. Barb Polehoykie was first in the female 46-55 age group with 1:00:10, Roger St. Jean was second in the male 46-55 age group with 1:03:46, Floyd Polehoykie came in at 1:14:01 and Richard Stickel 1:16:24. Gord Harris was first in the 56 plus age group with a time of 56:09.

The next Triathlon in the Peace Region will be the Fort St. John Triathlon which takes place on Sunday, June 7th starting at the swimming pool at 9am sharp.
