Saturday marks the final day of Pitch-In Week.

That means it’s the last day to take advantage of the free tipping fees at the dump.

Meanwhile, Community Development Coordinator Lorna Crouse says Pitch-In Day on Thursday was a success.

She says there were more than 4000 volunteers who helped pick up litter throughout the city. She says while she doesn’t exactly how many bags were collected, there was definitely more litter this year than last.

Even though the week is up, she hopes those who participated, practice stewardship.

This year, Crouse says she received an overwhelming amount of calls, to participate in this year’s pitch in day.

She says she thanks everyone who participated in the event, and hopes everyone will do it again next year.
