**UPDATED at 10:45pm

Fort St. John Fire Crews remain on scene as the Fort Hotel continues to burn.

The fire started around 5pm and crews have been on scene all night.  Right now they have brought in an excavator to help knock down the building as fire crews will not go inside the Fort.  According to Fire Chief Fred Burrows knocking down the outside walls has allowed crews to get water into the building and that has helped with the fire.

With the fire, power remains out to about 1400 customers in Fort St. John west of 100th street and from the Alaska Highway to 114ave.  The power will be out until the fire is under control.   As of 10:30pm, power may not be restored until noon on Sunday.

Rumors are running rampant that a person was inside the building when it went up in flames.  Police are investigating that rumor, but so far that has not been confirmed.
