The Fort St. John RCMP responded to a disturbance on Thursday night.

Police received a call at around 5:40pm. They attended a scene at the Maple Court Residences on 101 Avenue, where a woman was reported to have been armed with a knife, and in disturbance with a male.

All available RCMP members immediately responded to the scene.

They were able to locate the female suspect and bring her into custody without any harm to herself of the occupants.

Constable Jackelynn Passarell says alcohol may have been a factor in the disturbance. She says the woman was held in custody and later released with a court date.
