City management in negotiations with the BCGEU

City Manager Dianne Hunter has confirmed that City Staff are in talks with the BC Government Employees Union, representing city workers in Fort St. John.

Hunter says the current BCGEU contract expired on December 31st, 2008, though she couldn’t give any more details.

An anonymous source has told Moose FM that a strike vote is scheduled for next Monday (June 15th).

The BCGEU refused to answer Moose FM’s phone calls this afternoon.
