The local Bank of Montreal announced on Thursday that it will be donating $20,000 in total to the foundation.

Branch Manager David McDougall says when the local branch applied for the money from head-office; they didn’t expect to be granted such a large amount. [asset|aid=1496|format=mp3player|formatter=asset_bonus|title=a9cfdd93e685b3695194a6d0618415ef-David McDougall_1_Pub.mp3]

Executive Director of the Hospital Foundation, Janice Isberg, says the money will go towards the Cancer Diagnostic and Treatment Fund. Specifically, the money will be targeted to the Community Cancer Clinic for patients receiving chemotherapy.

Isberg says fundraising efforts are well-received and that community members are very generous. However, Isberg says it’s nice to be able to depend on this donation year to year. [asset|aid=1497|format=mp3player|formatter=asset_bonus|title=a9cfdd93e685b3695194a6d0618415ef-Janice Isberg_1_Pub.mp3]
