Glimmer of hope in BC Ambulance Strike

Weeks of meetings have finally produced a glimmer of hope in the two-month-old strike by B-C’s ambulance paramedics.
Two days of formal negotiations have been set for June 11th and 12th — after a month of talks trying to arrange a return to the bargaining table.

CUPE B-C president Barry O’Neill says the two sides are now “close” on many items, but they haven’t discussed, one of the key issues in the dispute….money
Thirty-five-hundred paramedics began a strike April 1st to back demands for improved wages and working conditions, although essential service legislation means they remain on the job.
