Local organization gearing up for its Cash Car Rally

A local non-profit organization is trying to raise money in a new, creative way.

The North Peace Community Resource Society is holding its first annual Cash Car Rally in Fort St. John this Friday.

Organizer Karla Marsh says proceeds will go towards Family Place and Strengthening Families Programs.

Participants will motor around town in decorated vehicles, and stop in at local businesses to seek donations.

The team with the most money at the end of the day wins a prize. Prizes will also be given to the runners-up and the team with the best car and costume theme.

While she didn’t mention a specific goal, Marsh says the society would be happy to raise even five thousand dollars.
