Quad accident Wednesday night

Photo:  RCMP, Fire Crews and BC Ambulance attend the scene of an ATV accident – Russ Beerling/Energeticcity.ca

A 14 year old male has been injured after an ATV accident Wednesday night.

On June 24th at 7pm, the Fort St. John RCMP received a report of a quad accident in a field to the west of the 267 road and Nurnberger Subdivision.  The RCMP along with the Fort St. John Fire Department and BC Ambulance attended the accident scene.

A 14 year old male had sustained head injuries in the accident.  The male was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.  The male was transported to the Fort St. John Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  The accident appears to have been caused by poor visibility due to dust on the trail.

The RCMP have received numerous calls of complaints in relation to erratic, dangerous driving by many ATV riders along the highways, streets and residential areas.  The RCMP want to remind the public that ATV’s are not insured for the road or highways and police are aware that a number of the ATV operators may not hold valid drivers licenses.

This map shows the approximate location of the ATV accident Wednesday night.
