A Fort St. John man has been arrested in a targeted traffic stop

A Fort St. John man has been arrested in MacKenzie with drugs that were destined for Fort St. John.

On July 9th at approximately 3:45pm, the MacKenzie RCMP in conjunction with the North District Regional General Investigation Section out of Fort St. John were involved in a targeted vehicle stop on Highway 97 south of McLeod Lake, BC.  The stop resulted in 4.76 kilograms or 10.5 pounds of marijuana being seized.

In addition to the marijuana, a significant amount of cash and a 2005 GMC Sierra Pickup was also seized under the Proceeds of Crime Legislation.

The adult male driver of the vehicle from Fort St. John was charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking.  The male will be appearing in MacKenzie Provincial Court later this summer.

The MacKenzie RCMP and the Regional GIS Unit are continuing to with the investigation.
