Edmonton youth killer faces sentencing in Dawson Creek today

An Edmonton youth is in the Dawson Creek court house today, as he awaits his sentencing for murdering his 17-year old girlfriend in Fort St. John.

The incident happened on May 18th of last year. The male cannot be named under the Youth  Criminal Justice Act.

Now, the Calgary Herald reports that last year, Lance Kreye was a member of a gang called the Crazy Dragons. He had asked the young victim for a ride to Fort St. John. The killer, who was the girl’s boyfriend at the time, also came along for the ride.

Police believe the gang is in the drug business.

The trio went to an apartment rented by Cody Bogogofski. His girlfriend, Jessica Drouin was also there. The Calgary Herald also reports that sometime around 3:15 p.m. that day, the victim was sitting on the arm of the couch beside Kreye.

Then, the suspect took a knife from the kitchen, walked to the girl and stabbed her twice in the neck.

Kreye claims that he didn’t witnesses the stabbing, but says he punched the suspect at least once.

When police arrived, Drouin was pressing a towel against the girl’s neck.

The suspect later admitted to police that he had stabbed the girl after the pair got into a fight.
