Fort St. John RCMP encourage you to lock your vehicle

The Fort St. John RCMP are once again reminding the public to lock their vehicles.

On July 10th at approximately 3:30am, the Fort St. John RCMP responded to the area of 88th avenue and 80th street in response to suspicious males opening car doors.

Police found multiple car doors in the area which had been opened and left ajar.  Upon further investigation with the vehicle owners, it was determined that nothing had been taken from the vehicles.

The RCMP would like to remind the community to keep your vehicles locked at all times.  This is by far the easiest way to keep your vehicle and it’s contents safe.  Police would also like to advise that all valuable should be removed from the vehicle to prevent any temptation of theft.

Vehicle owners are also reminded that it is an offence under the Motor Vehicle Act to not secure your vehicle.  This carries a fine of $81.
