Organizers say the Fourth Annual Paddle for the Peace is not a protest, but rather a celebration of the Peace River.

Danielle Yeoman says it will give participants a chance to paddle through the area where Site-C is proposed to be.

Registration for the four-hour journey will begin with a pancake breakfast from nine until noon at Bear Flats.

Launching will begin at noon at Bear Flats, and will end at the Old Fort. Yeoman says there will be a bus to bring participants to their vehicles after the event.

Last year, 170 boats participated in the paddle, and Yeoman says she hopes that more than 200 will take part this year.

The paddle will be taking place this Saturday and Yeoman says everyone is invited to take part.
