As the Enerplex completion date draws near, residents are curious about the facilities capabilities.
The City’s website says in the summer months, ice surfaces can be removed to accommodate things like major concerts and rodeos.
But, Director of Facilities and Protective Services Jim Rogers says its unlikely you will see major acts like Alan Jackson coming to town.
Councilor Lori Ackerman says the city is advertising the Enerplex capabilities because the facility has unlimited potential.
Now the facility has the capacity to hold five thousand people at a time. Rogers says in a pinch, the City does have enough seating for major events.

But, both Rogers and Ackerman both say the likelihood of a major concert coming to the centre this year is small. They both agree that Fort St. John does not want to compete with the EnCana events centre in Dawson Creek.
The soft-opening for the Enerplex is scheduled for sometime in September.
