Unemployment rate drops in Northeastern BC

The unemployment rate in Northeastern BC has dropped from a May to June 2009.

The current unemployment rate sits at 7.7% which is a drop of 0.7% per cent from May of 2009, in which the number sat at 8.4%.  In total just over 34,800 people were employed in the region during the month of June.

If you compare this June to June of 2009 the unemployment rate has increased by 1.8%.

The overall unemployment rate in BC is 8.1%
