Break in at the B.C. Ministry of Transportation yard

The Fort St. John RCMP is looking for the culprits responsible for breaking into a private yard and stealing some hard-to-handle materials.

On August 15th or 16th, the thieves broke into the B.C. Ministry of Transportation road works yard on 7315 87th Avenue.

The RCMP report that the suspects entered the yard through an opening they made in the fence. Once inside, the thieves used a forklift to move several rolls of Nilex-brand fabric landscape cloth and a pallet of Titan-brand barbed wire to the opening of the fence.

Nilex landscape cloth is easily identifiable as the rolls are 15 feet long.

Officers are asking any motorists traveling on the East Bypass Road, who have seen any suspicious activity in the yard, to contact police at 250-787-8140 or call Crime Stoppers at 1-888-222-TIPS.
