Dokie Wind project sale up in the air until Friday

We should find out more by the end of this week, about the proposed sale of the Dokie Ridge Wind Project in the South Peace.

Earlier this month GE Energy Financial Services and Plutonic Power Corporation requested an extension until September 4th, that’s this Friday, of a deadline for reviewing the proposed deal.

Earthfirst Canada currently owns, what has been described as the largest wind farm in BC, near Chetwynd and it is scheduled for completion late next year.

However, it obtained creditor protection under the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act early last November claiming its cash in hand at that time would not allow it to meet its Dokie project obligations.

The 144 megawatt farm could be expanded to a total of 300 megawatts, which is enough to power 34,000 homes.
