A local firefighter is back from Vancouver, with high praise for the World Police and Fire Games.

The games ended a week ago, and Brent Morgan – a captain with the Fort St. John department, says he had great experience. [asset|aid=1754|format=mp3player|formatter=asset_bonus|title=f2084c682e82fe689d94ac730aea743b-Brent-1_1_Pub.mp3]

In fact, the Vancouver games broke a record with more than ten and a half thousand athletes, from around 70 different countries, playing over 60 different sports.

Now, there weren’t enough guys heading down from this area, so Morgan joined a Vancouver hockey team, and he says that worked out well.  He says the compeition on the ice was stiff, but there was still a good sense of camaraderie between the athletes.

Captain Morgan had such a good time, he says he’s already talking to his wife, about participating in the next games, in 2011 in New York City.
