The fire that ripped through the Rosenau Transport and Unified Valve site has been deemed an accident.

While the official cause has not yet been determined, Fort St. John Fire Chief Fred Burrows says the fire was not human caused.

Investigators began searching the site on Tuesday afternoon, for clues as to what caused the Sunday night fire.

Chief Burrows says one area in particular is of interest to the investigation.

Evidence has been sent out to the Office of the Fire Commissioner, and now the Fire Department will have to wait for a report to determine the exact cause. This is expected to take a few weeks.

Chief Burrows also says the Fire Department has obtained an extensive list of chemicals that were stored in the warehouse, which he says includes many methanol-based substances.
