Person in hospital after early morning shooting in Fort St. John

A 22 year-old is in hospital following a shooting on Monday morning in Fort St. John.

The Fort St. John RCMP detachment reports that the unidentified victim is in hospital and is in stable condition.

The RCMP cordoned off an area in the city on Monday, at 98 avenue between 96th street and 95th street, north to the alley between 99 avenue and 100th avenue.

Police say it’s unknown how long the area will be closed to the traveling public. Officers are requesting information from the public on the incident.

Anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious on 95th street, 99, 98, or 98A avenue around four o’clock on Monday morning, are asked to call the RCMP at 250-787-8145.
