Petroleum Association Anniversary Celebration starts Today

The Fort St. John Petroleum Association kicks off it’s 50th anniversary celebrations with a reception this evening at the Pomeroy Hotel.

Federal Finance Minister Jim Flaherty is scheduled to be among the featured dignitaries attending the three day event. The Association will host a variety of different functions and President Tyler Kosick says the public is invited to take part in the celebrations. Tickets are still available at Greensmart Homes, and, featured events on Saturday will include the formal banquet, which is scheduled for 6pm at the Fort St. John Curling Club and a 11am parade.

Marshalling at PetroCan Truck stop, on the city’s western outskirts, it will feature oilfield companies equipment, and will proceed down 100th avenue to 100th street, and then turn south and finish, at the Alaska Highway. The parade starts at 11am with marshalling at 10am.
