Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued for BC Peace

**Update – As of 6:30pm Environment Canada has ended the Severe Thunderstorm Watch for Fort St. John.

RISK OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS FOR THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING. THIS IS AN ALERT TO THE POTENTIAL DEVELOPMENT OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS. MONITOR WEATHER CONDITIONS…LISTEN FOR UPDATED STATEMENTS. IF THREATENING WEATHER APPROACHES TAKE IMMEDIATE SAFETY PRECAUTIONS.

AN UPPER DISTURBANCE CROSSING THE BRITISH COLUMBIA INTERIOR TODAY WILL GIVE THE POTENTIAL OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS FOR THIS AFTERNOON AND EARLY EVENING. THESE STORMS ARE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING TORENTIAL DOWNPOURS, INTENSE LIGHTNING, 15 MM HAIL AND WIND GUSTS TO 90 KM/H.
