Update – Three males missing on Peace or Pine River

**Update – As of 2pm the three missing boaters have been found.  Our reporter on the scene reports the three spent the night on the river after there boat got stuck on a sand bar.  Click Here for more details

The Fort St. John RCMP is trying to locate a group of overdue river boaters on the Peace or Pine River.

Three male adults left the Taylor boat launch at around three o’clock Thursday afternoon. They were last seen in a red 20-foot river jet boat.

The relatives told their family members that they were headed up the Pine River and were planning to be back at around 9 o’clock. But, they have not been in contact with their family since. The missing male’s truck and trailer remains at the Taylor boat launch.

Fort St. John RCMP, North Peace Search and Rescue, Parks Canada, and family of the missing males are currently conducting searches by air and water.

Emergency personnel have not ruled out that the boaters may have sought shelter after the severe thunder storms last night.

If anyone saw the three males travelling on the aformentioned boat, please contact the Fort St. John RCMP.  They might have been travelling on either the Pine or the Peace River.

Any information may be pertinent in assisting emergency personnel with identifying the route of these males.
