Company awarded $2.7 million contract to upgrade local roads

Interoute Construction has been awarded a contract worth $2.7 million to upgrade some roads northwest of Fort St. John.

The company will be adding gravel or first time-paving to roads that are used by both public and industrial traffic.

Candidate roads for the 5.9 kilometers of upgrades include Tucker Avenue, Tucker Road, Nurnberger Road, Lucas Road, and Bridges Road 244G.

This project is expected to be completed in October, 2009.  Single-lane alternating traffic is expected to keep residential and industrial traffic moving.
