Power outage in Fort St. John – updated


UPDATE (3:23 p.m.) – Power has been restored all homes affect by the outages.

The lights were out for more than 4200 homes in Fort St. John.

The first power outage affected residences west of the 249 Road, North of the Alaska Highway, East of 82 Street, and South of Road 244. The cause of this outage occurred due to a failure in the hydro equipment.

Now, a second power outage affected homes north of 79 Avenue, West of 78th Street, South of 119 Avenue and East of 108th Street. This outage was cause by a motor vehicle accident.

Both outages occurred around noons, but has since been restored to all customers.
